I seriously need a new bank. My present one, like most nowadays (esp. if you've been a member a while) will go ahead and cover the occasional check that goes overdraft. Unlike most, they'll also charge you nearly 40 bucks for the mistake. This is to say, each time following this initial mistake, they'll cover the charge, but penalize an additional $40 for your being to dumb to keep better track of your money. Consider this in the age of debit cards:

Bought a $1 pack of gum? Make that $41.

A $5 lunch? You're dining well at 45 bucks.

A quick stop for cigarettes, a soda, and some chips? Fifty bucks, sucker.

You get the picture. Like I say, I need a new bank. Policies like these are only designed to fuck over the little guy while making the rich guy richer -- think about it, how often will people with money go overdraft anyway?

Bastards.

Oh, in other news: I was kidding, the guys in the house really are crazy. Not eccentric/weird crazy like me, but actual in-need-of-anti-psychotic-meds-and-round-the-clock-supervision crazy. Which really may not be such a bad thing, because it may provide much needed employment for weird/crazy types like myself. Who can't be bothered to balance a checkbook.

Thoughts?
